they shall possess it.
Jeremiah
prophesied that the Jews would return to their home land of
Palestine.

After this vision closed, the heavens were again opened unto us; and
Moses appeared before us, and committed unto us the keys of the
gathering of Israel from the four parts of the earth…
Keys
of Gathering Restored
On
April 3 1836 the prophet Moses appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver
Cowdery in the Kirtland Temple and gave them the keys for the
gathering of Israel. This was to be both a physical and a spiritual
gathering.
Dedication
of Palestine for the Return of the Jews
On
October 24 1841, Orson Hyde went on the Mount of Olives and gave a
prayer to dedicate Palestine for the return of the Jews.
Physical
Gathering
The
physical or political gathering of the Jews to Palestine began on May
14, 1948 when Israel was declared a state by the United Nations.
Spiritual
Gathering
The
spiritual gathering of the Jews will begin when Christ appears to
them on the Mount of Olives at the end of the battle of Armageddon
and they accept him as their Messiah.
